ValiantFans.com - Response to Wizard #151

Included in the May 2004 issue of Wizard Magazine #151*, on page 129,
is a reference to Valiant comic book sales on the secondary market.

In order to avoid confusion, here are some more detailed explanations
regarding the books mentioned.

First, the cover shown for Bloodshot #0 (platinum error ed.) is not the correct image.
The image shown is the regular edition of Bloodshot #0.
This is the most common version of the Bloodshot #0 books,
and often sells online for even less than the $3.50 cover price.
The actual Bloodshot #0 Platinum Printing Error book has no cover price.

and in particular, about the Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error, click here.

Just in case anyone is not convinced...
Mile High Comics is selling the $3.50 edition pictured in Wizard #151
for quite a bit less than $500, because it is clearly not rare.

Secondly, the Armorines #0 (Fall Fling '93 ed.) shown is identical
to the Armorines #0 common edition, which may cause some confusion for collectors.
The differences can easily be seen by looking at the back of the book.

In the case of Armorines #0 "Stand Alone" valued at $25+,
the back of the comic book features an advertisement for TIMEWALKER.
The "Stand Alone" version has a cardstock cover (stiffer than normal covers),
and was used as a dealer incentive book in limited quantities in 1993.

In the case of Armorines #0 common edition, valued at $2 or less,
the back of the comic book features an advertisement for an NFL video game.
The common version was included with X-O Manowar #25.

Please note: Both versions say "Fall Flings Preview Edition" on the front cover,
and neither book has a cover price.
The secondary market regards these two editions very differently,
even though they have identical front cover images.

The other images shown are appropriately described,
however, the prices mentioned have been somewhat different
in online auctions such as those found on Ebay(tm).
